Loyalty

Dogs as other animals display habit behaviours that communicate messages to any human who takes the time to observe them.

Dog teaches us principally the values of nobility, loyalty, protection and unconditional love.

Since the earliest times dog has had a special relationship with humans. He has hunted with us, protected us, played with us, given us love, companionship and above all dog gives us innate loyalty.

By looking at dog's spirit you will no doubt have fond memories and experiences of owning and loving dog as your companion. Dogs are truly giving animals and are devoted to their owners and their loyalty overules how they are treated.

The spirit of Dog reminds us to examine our own values of loyalty.

If you have any dog tales that demonstrate the spirit of dog we would love to hear from you.

Molly’s Story

About a year ago, my Mum announced that she was going to go and pick up a dog that needed our help. She said that the dog was very sad, because her owner had died, and the dog was matted, had sores, and her claws were so long that she couldn’t walk properly. When we arrived to pick up the dog, whose name was Molly, I didn’t know her and she smelled a lot so I lifted my lip at her, but Mum said that I had to let Molly into the car, so I did. Molly smelt so badly on the way back home in the car, that we had to open all the windows. When we got home, Mum gave Molly a bath with special shampoo, so that she smelt a bit better. I was a bit angry when Mum gave Molly some of MY food, but it was for a good cause. Mum said that Molly would have to go on a diet, so that she could lose some weight.    Molly was very sad for a while, I think because she was missing her owner, but some of her friends came and picked her up one day and took her to be at her owner’s funeral. I think it was a sad day for Molly, but after she came home again she seemed much happier.  Molly couldn’t stay with us for long, so we found some friends of Mum’s who could offer her a permanent home. They adopted Molly and became her new Mum and Dad, and when they go away on holiday and can’t take Molly with them, sometimes she comes to stay with us. It’s nice to see her happy, and I don’t mind her staying because now she smells much better. I even let her share my ball.
